The 2012 John Fries Memorial Prize for emerging visual artists is an art prize I have curated for two consecutive years. It is a $10,000 non-acquisitive art prize open to Australian & New Zealand emerging artists.

The judges for 2012 were Wayne Tunnicliffe (Head Curator Australian Art at the Art Gallery of NSW), Bronwyn Bancroft (artist) & Kath Fries (artist).

The artists selected to exhibit in the finalists' exhibition were: Cyrus Tang, Owen Leong, Nathan Taylor, Georgina Cue, Marc Standing, Kate Shaw, Fiona Jack, Carolyn V Watson, Paul Yore, Kittey Malarvie, Jacqueline Bradley, Philjames, Catherine Hockey, Adrian Spurr, Jacob Leary, Adam Laerkesen, George Shaw, Wanda Gillespie, Cath Robinson and Cigdem Aydemir.
